Why Aluminium Windows & Doors Are Becoming the Top Choice Across the North West

If you’ve been thinking about upgrading your home’s windows or doors, there’s a good chance you’ve come across the growing trend of aluminium glazing. And you’re not alone — homeowners across the North West are switching to aluminium for its sleek looks, impressive strength and long-lasting performance.

At Linwood Windows, we’ve partnered with DAWS, one of the UK’s leading aluminium system manufacturers, to bring our customers the very best in modern window and door design. But what makes aluminium such a standout choice? And why are DAWS products considered top of the range? Let’s take a closer look.

The Rise of Aluminium in Modern Homes

Aluminium has taken the home improvement world by storm in recent years, and it’s easy to understand why.

Unlike traditional materials, aluminium offers a level of strength, slimness and durability that gives homes a real architectural edge. It’s perfect for both stylish new builds and classic homes receiving a contemporary twist.

In places like Wirral, Liverpool, Southport and Chester, we’ve seen a big increase in homeowners choosing aluminium for modern extensions, open-plan kitchen spaces and large glass features. And once you see the results, it’s easy to understand the appeal.

Slim, Stylish, and Built to Last

One of the biggest reasons aluminium is so popular is the stunning visual impact it creates. Because aluminium is incredibly strong, it allows for ultra-slim frames. That means:

✨ Bigger panes of glass
✨ More natural light
✨ Cleaner, modern lines

Unlike timber or uPVC, aluminium doesn’t warp, rot or fade. It stands up brilliantly to coastal weather — a huge benefit for homes around the Wirral coastline and the rest of the North West.

With low maintenance and impressive thermal performance thanks to thermally broken frames, aluminium brings beauty and practicality together perfectly.

Happy Customers

The UltraFrame ‘UltraRoof’ is an excellent product and it has transformed my conservatory into a ‘year-round’ garden room.

It retains the heat very well, and does not get as hot when it is sunny, compliance with Building Regulations is a bonus.

The Linwood team came mob-handed on day one, and the roof was water-tight at the end of the day. Ably led by Mark (the boss), and the roofers and plasterers were excellent.

Even with 4 days drying time for the plaster, I was decorated and refurnished within 12 days from start
